Visiting a psychic medium was not something I ever envisioned myself recommending. As a bereavement counselor with a master's degree in clinical psychology and a hospice background, I'd always assumed that mediums were just for the desperate and perplexed.
In the spring of 2010, that changed. I scheduled an appointment with renowned psychic medium John Edward, fulfilling a promise I'd made to a dying friend when I was in my early twenties. Chat with Astrologer, What I encountered during that session formed the start of the journey I describe in After This: When Life Is Over, Where Do We Go, a book about my search for methods to stay connected with our loved ones who have passed away.
I've met at least a dozen psychic mediums by now, including one who runs an entire town in central Florida just for them (really), and I now feel that a good session with one may truly help with the grieving process.
- Consider the following five suggestions:
- Think about how you're feeling right now.
- Are you still smack dab in the middle of things? Do you wish there was a way to bring a loved one back to life? Are you depressed or enraged? Are you frequently sobbing or depressed? Be honest with yourself. If you answered yes to any of these questions, seek individual or group counselling before going to a medium to build a firm foundation for your store
- Time isn't a major issue in deciding whether a departed person will come through during a session, Talk to Astrologer, according to both the mediums I've spoken to and my extra study. However, scheduling that appointment before you've had time to absorb your loss may result in unrealistic expectations.
- Select the appropriate psychic medium
- They range from celebrities to beachfront con artists. Request suggestions from friends and family (you'd be shocked how many people you know have one). Read the website of a well-known medium if you're interested in learning more about them. Even if you don't get a slot, they'll most likely provide you with a list of more accessible possibilities.
- Some mediums host "spirit circles," when they work with a big number of individuals and provide random readings. Although you won't get one, it's a great way to get a feel for how things work. It could be able to alleviate some of the stress that comes with whatever expectations you may have. Please contact the website of Astrology Kart for any Advice.

Talk to Astrologer, Consider what appears to be correct before making a judgment. Some of the group readings have been really therapeutic for me; knowing you're not alone in your desire to reconnect with a long-lost loved one can be comforting.
- Over-the-phone readings can be extremely accurate. It doesn't appear to interfere with the medium's approach, and knowing that the medium isn't capable of reading your thoughts may help you feel more at ease throughout the reading.
